today we are going to extend our reviewing skills into the realms of Chinese modern art. Let’s have a quick look through the contemporary artists works together. Then work in your small groups and compare two of the artists’ works (choose any two artists, but not Xie Qi). Describe the works, their style, influences, medium, technique, colour, design, issues addressed in the works, way the works relate to their audiences.
First let’s have a look at two images together in class (the one from Xie Qi, and one from Zeng Fangzi. How can we describe, compare and appraise them?
